Default Date format problem

Hi

I need another help.

Where can stop the automatic changing of values in tables.
My problem is that I want to enter a date in a table.

I enter in a cell of a table : 20.09.2011 and PagePlus is changing it automatically to 20.092.011 when I leave the cell with the cursor keys to the next cell.
but this is garbage. Because I want to use the german date format an thats written like that :
dd.mm.yyyy

When I enter in a cell of a table : A 20.09.2011 PagePlus recognizes text an do not change the date. But I don´t want to enter a letter befor the date. That´s stupid.

How can I stop this behaviour of that changing.

Hiya again

This is a known issue. Don't use a period (.), use another symbol.

If your font supports it you can use a single dot leader.

Most fonts do not, but mine do, and so do Code 2000 and MS Unicode among others.

20․09․2011

single dot leader = U+2024

To type any Unicode character in PPX5, type the hex value (2024 in this case), then press Alt+X

It may not be ideal, but you could use one UK method of formatting dates - with a slash:
23 Sept 2011 = 23/9/2011.

I realise this may not be acceptable outside the UK.

You could use the ":", 23:9:2011
This is also unchanged when leaving a table cell.

Or put a space after the full stop (period) 23. 9. 2011

I suppose these methods wouldn't be acceptable in a formal document.

If you can do without the "." so the date shows as 01022011 for example, format the cells to:
00000000

Use leading apostrophe that is the ' to indicate that the cell contents should be treated as text.
On a German keyboard, this is to the right of the [ä] key.
I know it's not ideal.
