Dear All.

Serif (Europe) Ltd. is announcing the release of an update for English Language WebPlus X5 (build number 13.0.1.020).

The main purpose of the build is to resolve issues discovered after the release of WebPlus X5, for which we apologise. As well as a number of minor fixes, this update addresses the following major issues. Many are phrased in the negative from our database but are nevertheless fixed.

• Dragging page width stops pages tab drawing
• Failed to save site (GetDocumentProperties unspecified error)
• Flash galleries losing their transparency
• Flash transparency not previewed in app
• Inline Photo Gallery Fails to Display
• Javascript galleries covering drop down menu of child menu
• Master page manager doesn't show correct names of master pages
• PNG will not set as background in X5 but will in X2, X4.
• Pixelated Images When Running Image Export Manager
• PNG non-alpha transparency not observed by bitmap objects
• Image Breaks up on Zoom
• Merged pages have no child pages
• noscript tag style breaks some iframe content in IE8.
• Actions on image attached to text not exported
• Shadow tool - values change after deselect item then reselect
• Converting legacy NavBar to button navbar loses 'attach to bottom/right' option
• X2 Navbar without menu has 'Include child pages' set when imported to X5
• Don't regenerate button navbars for export
• Highlight9 navbar style missing its preview
• When displaying menu-bar within a panel, child menus are in wrong location
• Form file browser generates unwanted </div>
• Site Properties > Publishing > Test not working
• Site Properties Page preview always shows tiled image
• Site Manager > Site Checker keeps bringing up same HTML ID problem and text problem even though fixed
• Resource Manager and Hyperlink Manager disagree embed vs linked file
• Duplicated images in WPX2 site saved in WPX5
• PayPal Minicart does not apply cart handling charge
• PayPal buttons have wrong positions in IE
• E-commerce wizard always adds a "secondary trial period" to PayPal Subscription links, if a "primary trial period" is specified.
• Custom script from hard drive fails to load for form process
• Large scale on filter effects causes corruption
• Embedding large video files generates an 'Out of memory' message
• Find and Replace doesn't work
• Can't add word to custom dictionary via the Spell Check dialog
• Closing and reopening button swatch flyout causes redraw issues
• Button Studio - Moving text using 'Align' doesn't change other states
• Changing swatches views on the Gallery pane doesn't update
• Tables: Row Height Rendering Incorrect in IE
• Tables: transparent borders not 'sticking'
• Right click highlighted text in a table appears to be deselected
• Position of Text Cursor in Table Cells changes on task switching
• Inserting table rows/colums after selected rows/columns fails if more than one row/column is selected
• Duplicated images in tables.
• Image background not drawn correctly when exporting non-transparent object attached to text
• Problems inserting a Panel in Form area
• Shouldn't be able to drag an object onto a mergearea/form/panel in object browser
• Missing resource frames disappear when using Best resampling setting
• Hyperlink > File in a table is not correct.
• 'Show' in Object Browser does not display Form Fields individually
• Resized page creates unwanted scroll bars in Lightbox
• Hyperlink dialog: merge anchor settings not enabled appropriately

Crashes fixed:

• Crash when previewing site with pop-up rollover graphic
• Crash loading PSD Files
• Crash Insert > Page from Template
• Crash in WritePlus when insert £ or $
• Crash in Object Browser on revert document
• Closing a document with Writeplus open will hang the app
• Crash in Design studio, editing transparency
• Crash on attempting to open OpenClipArt SVG file
• Crash with Site Search on Master Page
• Crash when merging PayPal repeating area
• Crash when opening WPP file
• Crash when using Site Checker
• Insert Artistic Text and editing html without adding text -> crash
  WebPlus X4 site saved in X5 crashes when loading Site Properties
• C++ runtime error when using Gallery menu after panel/button designer
• Block 5 & Block 6 Navigation Bar + Colour Picker = Crash
• Crash dragging navbar to Gallery
• Crash when editing a renamed Table Cell Style
• Adjusting drop shadow on clipped image via the context toolbar causes crash
• Database merge can crash

A number of improvements including:

• Gallery objects update when scheme colours change
• 'Clear Formatting' should not remain selected in 'Text Styles' studio tab
• Cannot insert PhotoPlus X2 Spp images into WebPlus X5
• Cannot use the colour picker on Windows 7 Classic Mode
• Can't get favicon to stick in Site properties
• Double Quotes in Title Attributes of Images not converted to HTML Entity Code
• Lightbox IDs are being duplicated when text is copied.
• Bands of images missing when scrolling
• Can't add video that links to a URL
• Add additional entries to Robots.txt
• Applying text style removes hyperlink formatting
• Lightbox: Choice of native resolution or Site Properties when Hyperlinking to an image file

We would recommend that ALL users of WebPlus X5 download and install this file. Serif recommend that updating should be done within the program, by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help Menu. This will always get any available update for your version of Serif software (CD/DVD or download) and install it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the file also, which is 28.4 MB.


To work out if you need this update choose "About WebPlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 13.0.0.016 then you need this update. Helpfully the software checks for updates the first time it runs, so for those yet to install the software, the latest update will be found on first use if needed.
