Dear All.

Serif (Europe) Ltd. is announcing the release of an update for the English Language PagePlus X5 (build number 15.0.4.027).

The main purpose of this build is to resolve a regression introduced by the 15.0.3 update which has been quickly resolved. The regression could cause a crash to occur when using tables. This new update also includes all the fixes that were included in the 15.0.3 update, as listed below.

• File Open - Startup Wizard doesn't get correct text default styles for Start from Scratch
• File Open - Cannot edit line style on standard text in certain document types
• File Open - Documents with print separations won't load
• File Open - Inserting specific PagePlus file crashes PagePlus
• File Open - Inserting specific PagePlus file loses embedded images
• Import PDF - Some tinted bitmaps fail to load from PDF
• Image Import - SVG files incorrectly reading on French installations
• Image Import - Specific EPS file does not insert correctly
• Image Import - PNG non-alpha transparency not observed
• Image Import - SMF original colours in Colour Mapper are wrong after import
• Document Setup - Crashing when attempting to choose a background colour via 'Web Site Properties'
• Document Setup - Insert Pages with 'No Master' request is not respected
• Document Setup - Colour Scheme Designer always reverts to RGB colour space
• Tools - Crash when dragging to place object on pasteboard in multi-page view
• Tools - Rotated grouped objects have larger than expected hit area for lasso selection tool
• Tools - Crash when dragging the anchor for an anchored text frame inside the anchored text
• Tools - Shadow Tool values change after deselect item then reselect
• Tools - Potential crash on using Transparency Tool on Text Frame
• Tools - Special Template Photo frames can't be repositioned or resized
• Drawing - Show master page bleed objects in the normal page's bleed
• Drawing - Promoted objects draw in background of web export images
• Tables - Indent and hanging indent sliders do not work in tables/calendars
• Tables - Crash with images in tables
• Tables - Crash in tables when drag-dropping to the same cell
• Tables - Crash on Undo Insert Image in Table
• Tables - Selection vanishes on right click (eg to Copy)

• Resources - Adding own 2D Pattern Map image to QuickShape causes error/crash
• Resource Manager - Resizing photos doesn't work properly
• WritePlus - After exiting from WritePlus, keyboard shortcuts don't always work
• WritePlus - Closing a document in PagePlus view with Writeplus open will hang the app
• Mail Merge - Mail merged images can be badly pixellated
• PhotoLab - Saving no filters as default layout crashing program
• Photo Edge Effects - unwanted hairlines around image
• File Save - Fixed instance of PagePlus X5 failed to save, Unspecified Error (AV Sharing Violation)
• PDF Export - Greyscale images go out on all channels to PDF-X/1a
• PDF Export - Hyperlinks do not honour 'scale' on output
• PDF Export - Saving an opened PDF file overwrites the original
• PDF Export - Hyperlinks fail if wrapped to next line
• HTML Export - Bitmap pixellation issue
• HTML Export - Text unnecessarily output as graphic
• Bitmap Export - Bitmap pixellation issue
• All issues reported as fixed in 15.0.2 update announced here

We would recommend that ALL users of PagePlus X5 English download and install this file. Serif recommend that updating should be done within the program, by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help Menu. This will always get any available update for your version of Serif software (DVD or download) and install it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the file also, which is 16.2 MB.

To work out if you need this update choose "About PagePlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 15.0.3.026 or less and you are running the English version then you need this update. Helpfully the software checks for updates the first time it runs, so for those yet to install a CD, the latest update will be found on first use if needed.
