PhotoPlus X4: Clone tool

I am using PHP 4X with Windows Vista and when I am using the Clone Tool I get very varied results. Sometimes nothing happens other time I get a completely different "Clone". Sometimes it works if I File/revert but not always. I have tried to follow "Help" but no consistancy whatsoever.

It's not clear exactly what varied results you are getting. But there are several settings that will change the results you get. First is "aligned". With that checked, the source will move in lockstep with the destination so what is being cloned will change constantly. If you uncheck that, the source remains stationary, say on a pattern you want to clone over a large area. Use all layers can give some unexpected results, if you're not aware it's turned on. And finally, if you make the brush very soft, it will affect the outside edges of the clone. Try playing with these first. Then let us know if any of these settings are causing the results you are getting
