Default Twitter & Facebook buttons

I'd like to add twitter & facebook buttons, but when I add code their picture look terrible - change form, brightness and so on. What is the reason?

I'm just curious. There are custom made facebook icons galore out there but yet if you look on facebook they specify that their icons are not to be altered for use.

So - how is it everyone gets away with these custom icons? I guess they just ignore facebook and facebook just ignores them?

What about the Facebook "Like" button - I can get the code but where do I install it?

Welcome to the forums.

In WebPlus, Insert HTML Code and paste to BODY. I believe this is where the code is pasted, but Facebook will advise on their instructions.

I tried that already but all I got was a box with all the html stuff - no icon or link shown

On top of that it kept crashing the program when I tried to view it in a page

Firstly, which version of WebPlus are you using? - if it's X4, make sure you have the latest update by going to Help > Check for web update.

Secondly, can you post the code back here for a look. You may have missed something when copying the code from Facebook or when inserting into WP, it happens but it is doable.

And, what happens when you preview the page in a browser? That's when that white box with the html stuff will be replaced with the button.

I guess its a case of a billion infringments versus a little profit making company.
Larger companies like coca-cola however, have entire departments set-up for tracking and shutting down infringments.
But FaceBook's stance is similar to other companies, i.e. try saying some thing is googlicious and you could incur the wrath of the google legal team.

Twitter on the other hand really doesn't care, that could have chnaged by now.

I don't use Facebook so I'm lost on 'ad page of facebook' - you can certainly add a 'find us on facebook button' in WP.

Hi Tom, Thanks for your reply, ive just worked it out i think.

When you enter the url for the like button code i just need the url for my ad page.

It will mean that they actually like my add page and not my website but with facebook being so powerful in searches and its general amount of users i might go for this

Cheers Martin
