Default Sitemap.xml format problem

Hi - I have an existing site for which I have ticked the 'create Sitemap' option. I submitted the generated file to Google in their Webmaster Tools screen. However, it was rejected for the following reason :

The Webplus Sitemap.xml file uses basic addressing e.g. ...
www.mysite.com

Whereas the Google system requires full addressing e.g. ...
http://www.mysite.com

I downloaded the Sitemap.xml file, manually edited each URL to add "http://" at the beginning, then re-posted it to my site - success !!!

However, if I now re-generate the siteap.xml file, I'll have to re-edit it - what a pain, and this for every one of my Webplus sites

Is there an option to have Webplus produce a Sitemap.xml with full url addresses ?

Cheers Jem

It normally does.

In site properties check the settings in the Publishing tab.

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

On the publishing tab, I changed my website address to include "http://" at the start - I guess everything flows from that point.

I also checked the box turning local url's into absolute url's.

Seems to have done the trick - thanks for your prompt reply

Cheers Jem
