Dear All.

Serif (Europe) Ltd. is announcing the release of an update for the English Language MoviePlus X3 (build number 6.0.5.022).



The main purpose of the update is to resolve a specific issue discovered after the release of MoviePlus X3 6.0.5, for which we apologise. A list of the changes/fixes in this update is provided below. Some are phrased in the negative from our database, but are nevertheless fixed in this update.

• Fix menuless DVDs not playing on some DVD players
• Scenes dialog has no audio
• "Loop playback" checkbox on disc export wizard page; when checked, menuless DVDs will loop automatically
• Fix slow seeking in indexed AVCHD files (esp. those from Canon hf20) To benefit from this fix requires you to delete your existing index files. See "Tools>Options>Advanced>Show Index Files" for the location of the files to be manually deleted.
• Crash undoing track rename
• Crash undoing storyboard insert while editing duration
• Remove unnecessary restriction on MP4 export width (height is still limited to 576 pixels due to codec licensing restrictions).

As well as all the issues fixed in the previous MoviePlus X3 6.0.4 patch.


We would recommend that ALL users of MoviePlus X3 English download and install this update. This software update is the only version you need to apply, no matter what version of English MoviePlus X3 you are currently running. There is no need to uninstall any previous update before installing this build.

Serif recommend that updating should be done within the program, by using the "Check for Updates" option in the Help Menu. This will always get any available update for your version of Serif software (CD or download) and install it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the file also, which is 6.9 MB.

To work out if you need this update choose "About MoviePlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 6.0.4 or less (and you are running the English version) then you need this update.
