Default Such a novice! - Effects duration ...

Hi there

I'm quite new to editing and especially to MoviePlus X3 - I've added an effect to a video clip, but it is running for the entire duration of the clip - i.e. 26 minutes - I only want it to run for a few seconds, but the duration option in the properties tab is greyed out to me, so I can't alter the length it runs for.

I've read the how to's, but I can't make head nor tail of that, so I'm totally stumped! All help very gratefully received!

Hi

A simple way to achieve what you say you want would be to "split" the clip at the point you desire and apply the effect to the few seconds you want the effect. You split a clip by selecting the desired clip on the timeline, selecting the point you want the split to occur and pressing the "S" key.

The above is of course in Timeline mode, as far as I know you cannot split in Storyboard mode!

Two ways of doing this. Firstly by altering its effect by using keyframes. Or simpler still split the clip at the point you want to remove it. Then delete the effect from the part of the clip after the split.
