Angry Export Bit rate woes

I'm trying to setup a new MP4 export template for Vimeo in MPX3. Anyways, I can't type anything into the bitrate edit box without it always going back to 1024. I click in the box to try and backspace but that doesn't work either. If I drag the slider it only goes up to 768000, but I need to put it to 2000kbps - I can't tell whether the edit box setting is in kbps or bps! If I type anything else in to replace what's in there it goes back to 1024

Can anyone help please?

Hi Carl,
I'm afraid this dialog does have a few problems, but it is possible to get the result you want.
The maximum bit rate is determined by the "Level" setting. If you don't know what level you need, set it to "Auto". The slider range won't update until you move the slider, but the maximum range should increase to 240Mbps.
You can type the value in directly, but you have to be careful not to go outside the slider range while you're editing it. If you want 2000 kbps (2000000), slide the slider to its maximum (240000000) and then delete the "40".

These "difficult" dialogues often work better if you type only a couple of numbers at a time, and type them rapidly.

So, I move the sliders to produce the approximate bit-rate, then edit this number to produce exactly what I want.

For example, if I want 2500kbps, I drag the slider until it shows perhaps 2480789.

Next, highlight the first 4 & 8 numbers and type 50 rapidly.

This should produce 2500789.

Next, highlight the 7 & 8 numbers and type 00 rapidly.

This should produce 2500009.

Finally highlight the final 9 and type 0.

This should produce 2500000.

This is annoying but usually works. But, I do like Jon's suggestion of moving the slider to the far right and editing from that.

That's right, it can be tricky if you don't kow! Hopefully this will be alot easier to do in the next version.
