Dear All.

This post by Serif (Europe) Ltd. is to announce the release of an English language version patch for WebPlus X4 (build number 12.0.3.029).

The main purpose of the patch is to resolve issues found in WebPlus X4 12.0.2, including some introduced in the 12.0.2 build and reported in these forums, for which we apologise. That version included a large number of software fixes (over 100) and significantly changed the Navigation bars in the install. If you are currently using 12.0.0 or 12.0.1 please read about those changes in the 12.0.2 patch announcement before installing 12.0.3.
A list of the major changes/fixes in this patch is provided below. Some are phrased in the negative from our database, but are nevertheless fixed in this patch.

• Save file now always needs enough space to save next to original file completely before original file is deleted/backed up.
• Creating .backup.wpp file is improved
• Fixed "Failed To Save Site, Unspecified Error" when embedded image shown as missing.
• Fails to save .wpp file - when website contains a 0kB file.
• FTP not responsive on some users machines.
• Inserting an OLE object does not display when previewed.
• Crashing when trying to load PhotoLab when document contains missing images.
• JavaScript photo galleries on pages that are not at site root don't work, fixed.
• Fix navbar preview on pages with page transitions
• When trying to use a SMF file in a normal rollover it doesnt display.
• JavaScript navbars - Text changes not reflected when using Preview In Window, fixed.
• Background sound is playing in WebPlus when adding a navigation bar.
• Javascript navbar clash with Lytebox code, fixed.
• JavaScript navbar redraw issue some browsers, shows vertical when designed horizontal.
• Navbar Type Selection - Greyed-out on some machines.
• Designer Flash navbars - Designed colours can clash with scheme colours.
• Navbar Style Dialogue - Error Loop choosing sub-menu font size
• Navbar "regenerating preview" message less intrusive.
• Flash Navbar sub-menus should not stop hyperlinks on page content when not popped down.
• Default Custom Navtree filename case is now consistent.
• Improve reliability when holding down shift key to insert multiple objects. for example when trying to insert multiple IFrameObjects.
• Export of images with transparency more predictable.
• Added an option to set the background colour for flash navbars. Different browsers support transparent wmode with varying degress of success. However at least now the users can set the colour of the navbars backdrop. If no colour is set, the backdrop adopts the background page colour.
• Occasional artistic text tool crash fixed.
• Fix crash with anchor navbar on a page that is excluded from navigation.
• Disable main UI whilst an ftp transfer is active.
• Problem writing SDB files in non-English locale solved.
• Crash opening file manager if you have set 'use original image filenames'
• Import Web Pages "Enter an integer message" consistency.
• JavaScript navbars appear behind JavaScript galleries in Firefox fixed.

As well as the issues fixed in the 12.0.2 patch and the 12.0.1 patch. We would like to apologise for how long it has taken for the WebPlus X4 12.0.3 patch to be released. Thank you for your patience.


We would recommend that ALL users of WebPlus X4 English download and install this patch. Serif recommend that patching should be done within the program, by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help Menu. This will always get any available patch for your version of Serif software (CD or download) and install it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the patch also, which is 35.6 MB.

To work out if you need this patch choose "About WebPlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 12.0.0.019 or 12.0.0.20 12.0.1.22 or 12.0.2.26 and you are running the English version then you need this patch. Helpfully the software checks for updates the first time it runs, so for those yet to install a CD, the latest patch will be found on first use if needed.

This WebPlus X4 Patch includes a mini patch for the files in the registration bonus content installer.
This patch has been remade on 27/05/10 to work for those users with the "Heart Internet" version, which did not previously work
