Dear All.

Serif (Europe) Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of a patch for MoviePlus X3 English (build number 6.0.4.021).

The main purpose of the patch is to resolve a number of issues recently discovered after the release of MoviePlus X3, for which we apologise.


A list of the changes/fixes in this patch are listed below, some are phrased in the negative in the database, but are nevertheless fixed ...

• Fix: Crash in QuickTime export "Audio Details" tab with QuickTime 7.6
• Fix: Crash in Media Download dialog
• Fix: Crash when rendering certain "outline" text styles
• Fix: Crash in Greyscale effect when blend parameter < 100%
• Fix: Feature unlocking fails through automatically detected proxy servers
• Fix: "Check for Updates" fails through automatically detected proxy servers
• Fix: Sound card initialisation failure when the default sound device is incompatible
• Fix: "Rotate Clip" command ignores rotation set in media pane
• Fix: Rotation of image files in media pane is not saved
• Fix: "Set project video to match" can set project interlacing to non-progressive
• Fix: Intro chapter replays after chapters that return to the first menu
• Fix: Intro chapter is not rendered on menuless DVD
• Fix: Cannot burn from MvP5 SBA Disk Images
• Add support for files from Vado HD camera (FourCC: H264)
• Detect old QuickTime DLLs which can cause the QuickTime system to crash, and warn user

As well as all the issues fixed in the previous MoviePlus X3 6.0.3 patch. This software patch is the only patch you need to apply, no matter what version of MoviePlus X3 you are currently running. There is no need to uninstall any previous patch before installing this patch.

Additional Release Notes

We would recommend that ALL users of MoviePlus X3 (English) download and install this patch. Serif recommend that patching should be done within the program, by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help menu of MoviePlus X3. This will always get any available patch for your version of Serif software (CD or download) and installs it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the patch also, which is 5.2 MB. The patch for the English download MoviePlus X3 is the same as for the English CD version.

To work out if you need this patch if you are using MoviePlus X3 English version and choose "About MoviePlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 6.0.3.020 or less then you need this patch.
