Dear All.

Serif (Europe) Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of a patch for PagePlus X4 (build number 14.0.3.024). The purpose of the patch is to resolve a number of issues discovered after the release of PagePlus X4 14.0.2, for which we apologise. A list of the changes/fixes in this patch is provided below. Some are phrased in the negative from our database, but are nevertheless fixed in this patch.
  • PSD files do not appear in Media bar.
  • Insertion of PDF image into Media bar can cause crash.
  • Drag Drop from Media bar while document closing can cause crash.
  • Empty Image Metadata can cause Media bar crash.
  • Keyboard accelerators data file updated to cope with translated characters.
  • Animated Marquee object does not draw text to scale in publication view.
  • Prevent possible crash dragging tables from the gallery.
  • Deleting images embedded in a saved document and then saving over the document can cause crash.
  • Reverting a document with anchored objects can cause crash.
  • Small caps widths wrong for some accented characters.
  • Prevent possible crash editing column text selections.
  • Specific font character fails to render at certain zoom levels.
  • Bookmark auto-generate misses paragraphs that begin with a column break.
  • Improve default footnote formatting. Remove any local formatting (so all their formatting comes from "Footnote Text").
  • HD Photo imported from PDF can become transparent when inserted into existing publication.
  • Loading PDF with empty cmap table can cause crash.
  • PDF export has better dashed line support.
  • Simultaneous click of both left and right mouse button while in Photolab causes crash.
  • Displace filter in PhotoLab can cause crash.
  • Adding master pages to a side fold booklet can cause crash.
  • Table columns not sorting properly.
  • Deleting table rows does not delete anchored objects.
  • Calendar Options Format dialog can crash.
... as well as all the issues fixed in the PagePlus X4 14.0.2 patch.

We would recommend that ALL users of PagePlus X4 download and install this patch. Serif recommend that patching should be done within the program, by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help Menu. This will always get any available patch for your version of Serif software (CD or download) and install it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the patch also, which is 8.9 MB. The patch for the download PagePlus X4 is the same as for the CD version.

Helpfully the software checks for updates the first time it runs, so for those yet to install a CD, the latest patch will be found on first use.

To work out if you need this English version patch choose "About PagePlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 14.0.2.023 or less then you need this patch.
