Serif PagePlus X4 Patch Announcement (14.0.2)

Dear All.

Serif (Europe) Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of a patch for PagePlus X4 (build number 14.0.2.023).


The main purpose of the patch is to resolve a specific issue with master page frames, discovered after the release of PagePlus X4 14.0.1, for which we apologise. A list of the changes/fixes in this patch is provided below. Some are phrased in the negative from our database, but are nevertheless fixed in this patch.

• Crash creating text box on master page with Pages tab displayed
• Paste Format not working correctly
• Large files can fail to PDF when ‘Optimize for Web’ is enabled
• Runtime Error switching document pages when studio is 'hovered'
• Drag and Drop from Gallery doesn't always drop where expected
• Word Import uses paragraph style as character style if no character style is present
• Remove Unused Text Styles can remove styles used styles are based on
• Custom ‘Zoom’ and ‘Text’ toolbar categories missing
• Top and Bottom Frame Margins not saved as defaults
• Crash on Replace All after Select All in text
• Database sort fixed for numerals and multiple words.
• Typing into calendar cell deletes the date
• Table copy and paste issues fixed
• Some palettized scanned images were inverted.
• Crash Pasting WMF into Text Frame
• Crash in gallery with WDP file
• Crash with HDP picture from big PDF files
• Crash when undoing a PhotoLab edit with Adjust Lighting filter and entering PhotoLab again

... as well as all the issues fixed in the PagePlus X4 14.0.1 patch.


We would recommend that ALL users of PagePlus X4 download and install this patch. Serif recommend that patching should be done within the program, by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help Menu. This will always get any available patch for your version of Serif software (CD or download) and install it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the patch also, which is 6.3 MB. The patch for the download PagePlus X4 is the same as for the CD version.

Helpfully the software checks for updates the first time it runs, so for those yet to install a CD, the latest patch will be found on first use.

To work out if you need this English version patch choose "About PagePlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 14.0.1.020 or less then you need this patch.
