Alym

People have the date and time in the lower right corner of their computers. How do you think this feature would benefit your Mum's website?

To do what you ask, go to dynamicdrive.com or sourceforge.net and search for an appropriatie add-on. Insert the code via Insert > webobject > HTML.

Pretty simple.

Add an HTML text block ("text frame editing") onto your page. With your cursor in the block, choose Insert menu, then Information and select time.

Pick the format you want and be sure to check the Update Automatically box.

I used this method to name each page while navigating, using Page Info/Page Name. Since my pages are based upon a master page, I just added this variable to my master page.

Enjoy!

JC,

That's fine if all Alym wants is a "Last updated" indicator, but (like mjh) I get the impression that Alym is looking for a way of displaying a clock of some kind.

The WebPlus "Insert Date/Time" is not a real clock, and cannot be made to work like a real clock.

The WebPlus date/time is updated only when you use WebPlus to make a change to the page - the date/time is used as an indicator of when the page was last changed, sort of like this: This page revised on: date/time

Alym - Marilyn's answer to your first post in this thread tells you what to do - I suggest you go back and look at it again.

By the way, using block capitals in your thread titles and subject lines is considered as shouting.

Hi Alym

Have a look at this script http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex6/clock3.htm from dynamicdrive site. This the one I use on my Demo/help http://www.dond.ulmb.com/index.html site.
Put it in as Marilyn suggests.

Mike

Because it is not supposed to.

Most folks have the date/time in the lower right of their screens, why do you need a clock and calendar on your site? You will need to add a script to do that.

The date and time that are added to a page by WebPlus are the date and time that you made a change to the page. One way to use the WP date and time is like this: "This page last updated on: {wp date/time}"

However, the WebPlus date and time are not a "real-time" date and time; they will not update like a real clock when viewed on your web page(s).

For "real time" date and time, most computers that are running Windows probably already have a small clock somewhere in the screen. In WIndows XP, the clock is probably near the lower right corner of the screen. Therefore, adding a clock to your web page(s) might not be worth your time and effort.

If you want to add a "real-time" date and time to your web page, ask yourself which date and time do you want displayed - the date and time at your computer? Your web host? Your site visitor's computer? GMT? Other? Then you will have to locate an appropriate date/time script from some place like SourceForge or DynamicDrive or JavaScriptSource, then modify the script to suit your needs, then insert it into your WebPlus page, then troubleshoot the script to try to figure out why it doesn't work as you intended, then try again.

Hi, I know this is a really old thread, but I am also looking for a working clock for a website. The reason (before anyone asks) is because the website I manage is Australian based and I am working on it in England, so I need a way to communicate what time and date in Aussie time that I last updated it so the readers know when the last time was incase they need to contact me about something that has just gone up in the news section and I need to upgrade it asap. Right now its a fairly fast moving news page so I really need to communicate the time in GMT and Aus time, any help would be gratefully received. I tried the first link offered, but its html and I dont really understand it enough to mess around with it so a basic ticker type clock (flash I guess) would work real well here, thanks :-)

Go find a google gadget clock (many choices) and insert it.

Thanks, I had a look at those ones and that isnt quite what is required. The others I found are all html and I cant get them to work, so I will just add it manually again for now.
Thanks anyway.
