Extracting

Hi all

Another of my stupid questions
I have followed the process of extracting part of a photo in PP11 no problem but how do you save just that bit. When I save it it still saves all the blanked out parts as well whereas all i want is th small bit I extracted. The help section dosn't detail the saving procedure

- make your selection
- hit Strg + C
- hit Strg + V

I too have carefully extracted a piece of a picture (originally surrounded by a white background) and can then see a coloured image on the screen which has an apparently transparent area all round it where the white area was. If I save this image as a .Spp file, and then reopen it, the transparency still surrounds it, but if I then try to insert this .Spp file into a Powerpoint slide, the transparent area becomes white once more, and is no longer transparent. What should I be doing ?

What should I be doing ?

You should be exporting the image to a standard image file format instead of trying to use the native .Spp format. GIF, PNG and TIFF all support transparency; make sure you tick the 'Transparency' option in the Export Optimizer.

I believed I had tried .GIF, but I don't remember using the Export Optimiser before, as you suggested.
