Serif PhotoPlus 10.1.0 Patch Announcement

Dear All.

Serif are pleased to announce the release of a patch for PhotoPlus 10 (build number 10.1.0.021).

The main purpose of the patch is to resolve Vista performance and compatibility issues http://www.serif.com/forum/ViewThrea...d=28387#191376. It ensures that PhotoPlus 10 has full functionality within the Vista operating system as well as the previously supported operating systems of Windows® 98 SE, Me, 2000, or XP. This patch also tackles a number of issues discovered after the release of PhotoPlus 10, for which we apologise.

We would recommend that all users of PhotoPlus 10 download and install this patch, though it is particularly useful for Vista users or anyone using 10.0.2 or below. This is a binary patch that updates the installed files, and requires that you have installed a CD version. You may be prompted to put the CD back in during the patch process.

Patching can be done manually by going to the updates and patches page http://www.serif.com/downloads.asp OR by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help Menu of PhotoPlus 10.

IMPORTANT However please note....

If you purchased the downloadable version from this site (and so do not have a CD) then you will need to use this link PH10 Download version patch http://dl.serif.com/Patches/PhotoPlu...atch-Setup.exe not the one on the updates page.

There is also an International CD patch (if you have a PH10 CD purchased outside of the UK and you can see a white box on the actual CD artwork saying "International Version" then you will need to use "check for updates" within the program or this link instead PH10 International Patch http://dl.serif.com/Patches/PhotoPlu...atch-Setup.exe not the one on the updates page.


IMPORTANT: Please note that if you purchased the downloadable version from this site, but have been sent a CD, that you may still need to uninstall and reinstall the CD version for the patch to apply, see KB article 3525 http://www.serif.com/support/knowled....asp?KBID=3525

These are the main changes in this version.

1. Faster performance under Vista.
2. Switch to CHM help from HLP help, as support for this was deprecated by Microsoft in Vista.
