install problem Pano 3

Hi

Seem to be having issues installing panorama plus 3.

When I insert the CD it goes to the installation screen, after a few seconds, i get a dialog box

"A system reboot request or pending file rename operation has been detected. To ensure greater stability, the installer for Serif Panorama Plus 3 will not perform any system changes until a full system reboot is completed"

I did reboot and nothing happened.

I contacted support on the issue last week and they suggested the following.

Dear Sir

In this instance you will need to remove all traces of the failed installation from your PC. To do this you will need to download and install the Windows Installer Clean UP Utility from - http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

Once installed restart the PC and then run it from 'All Programs' on the start menu. When it opens select the program from the list and then click remove and then exit. Once you have done this restart the PC and then download and install the Windows Installer 3.1v2 update from -

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=889482FC-5F56-4A38-B838-DE776FD4138C&displaylang=en

Once installed restart the PC and then install the program again. This should solve the problem you are having.

I did try the suggested and still no luck.

I contacted support but haven't heard back yet.

Just wondering if anyone would have any other suggestions?

So what happens when you try installing PnP3 now? Do you still get the 'reboot required' message? Or what? Did you try installing again immediately after rebooting?

Yes, I still get "reboot required". I did try installing again immediately after rebooting and got the same message... "reboot required"

Forgot to mention Serif did send me another CD...and I tried that one and got the same "reboot required".

As a side note;
There are three installable files i did try on the installation cd....

1)Serif PanoramaPlus 3.msi
2)setup.exe
3)Serif PanoramaPlus 3 for RM CC3 Servers.msi

I tried.. 1) and it gave the reboot required...2) reboot required 3) worked but it is asking for server license etc.
