Lightbulb Can anyone

tell me what error '12007' actually means whilst clicking 'test' after inputing new ftp details

Any suggestions much appreciated

It usually means that you have an incorrect url in your upload info.

What details are you putting in the FTP Address box?

Well, if that is correct then it's most likely your firewall I suspect. Is it set to allow WP access to the web?

I also read somewhere about Norton AV causing simialr issues - may be worth a look at their site if you have Norton installed.

Nick,

Usually, I add just the domain name, such as valleycat.net, without the www. WP appends the ftp to it, so you would be getting something like ftp. ftp.hampsteadsixthform.co.uk

A good point Mike. The error often occurs because people add "http:// " to the link as well.......

I have managed to solve the problem, instead of using ftp.name.co.uk my hosting service have also supplied me with a ip address and that is working now.
