Lightbulb Please can someone help me?

I bought a Hyperpen 6000U from serif. I have installed all of the software and the tablet is blinking on the F1 button at the top but nothing works. It came with the cordless pen and cordless mouse. Can anyone tell me how to make it work. I wanted to use it to edit photos in photoshop elements 2.
Thanks
Scrappy

Scrappy:
Please do not be offended..........but did you install the batteries in the pen and mouse?

www.aiptek.com has the newest drivers for for your OS for either
the usb or paralell tablet.

Lightbulb Whilst we're talking about the HyperPen 6000 ....

It's in the nature of things for the discussions on a Forum like this to have a negative bias - it's a place where by definition confusions, puzzles and complaints are aired. Generally people don't post "I'm satisfied", let alone "I'm pleased" messages.

In a small way, I'd just like to redress the balance. I bought one of these tablets in 2000, and the original pen (as has been aired in the Forum more than once) was not a brilliant piece of mechanical design, with the plastic casing developing stress cracks pretty early on.

Yesterday the whole thing came apart in my hands. A single polite call to Serif has resulted in the arrival of a jiffy bag this morning with a replacement pen it - one of much more robust construction. No prevarication, no fuss, no charge, no delay.

Well done, Serif.

Lightbulb Re:Whilst we're talking about the HyperPen 6000 ....

I found this message thread randomly. I bought the tablet last year and the pen cracked a few months ago. The tip doesn't seem to work unless I slam it on the tablet. I am not a techie so I just avoided using it. Today, I finally got frustrated with trying to draw with my touchpad and searched the web for replacements. This is the first place I could find with useful information re. this tablet pen.

I would hate to give more money to Aiptek to purchase the same cheap replacement pen. And $10 on their website for this cheap pen seems outrageous. Can someone recommend another pen that will be compatible and where to find it?

My compeuter OS is Windows XP Home Edition

I got the Hyperpen 6000U today, when I plug in WinXP recognized it as APT-600U and searched for suitable driver, but winxp couldnt find any. As such, I have to download software version 2.28, 3.01, 3.04 from different kind of aiptek.com.xxx but I soon as I click the setup.exe of whatever version, the PC keeps informing that the software was written for 16-bit...I wonder why?? Can you please help me out of this?

If you have any version that workd well on your winxp Home edition, could you please send me : vietnga.kleine@t-online.de

Thanks a lot

You could try using the Compatibility mode in XP....

Find the folder with the driver in and look for a file ending with .exe and right click it. Select Properties and then Compatibility. Select Win98 and see what happens.

Sorry I can't be more specific about the file and folder but I no longer have that device on my PC, having upgraded to an A$ tablet.

I tried to select Win98 Properties of file setup.exe of different driver versions, but it still doesnt work. What should I do now to get the driver installed in my stupid winxp?

Hi

It's not the Setup file, it's after you've installed it
You'll find a folder called Aiptek or something where the software has been installed and in there you'll find an .exe file called Hyperpen.exe or something..... that's the one that you need to try the compatibility mode on.

Sorry I can't be more specific - as I said earlier, I don't have it on my PC these days. Having said that, it worked in XP Home for we without any problems and without using the Compatibility option.

The problem is that I cant install the driver, the setup.exe is not running in winxp.

OK, so try downloading this one http://www.goaiptek.com/drivers/driv...perpen2.28.zip and installing it.

Hi,

I had that problem earlier on. But i think this link should fix it.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767

I can get it to install ver 3.01 eventually, but now i face with another problem.. my laptop refuses to accept any signals from the stylus. it work well for a while and then stop responding. if all else fails, I'll do a system restore and let XP detect the tablet itself.

cheers !
