Need help with thumbnails

Does anyone know how I can put thumbnails onto my site??? I cant believe that this facility isn't included in WP 8!!! Ive purchased way cheaper web programmes before i.e Web Studio and thats got them, why not WP 8???

I created my site way back with WebPlus1 (www.offthewalldesigns.2cuk.co.uk) when all I had to do was resize a picture down to thumbnail size, insert a hyperlink to the full size image as a separate page with a 'back button' or some other method of escape.
I am currently updating the site with WP8 and am using the same method. It really couldn't be simpler!

does this mean that for every "bigger" picture that you require you have to make a page for, if so i'm going to need a lot of pages.

No, you don't need a separate page for each 'bigger' picture! The link will simply load the large image - it doesn't need to be on a page.

do you have to load the larger graphic to your server seperately , if not how else will it find it.

If you create the hyperlink in PP then both the thumbnail and the larger pic will be uploaded during the ftp process. Of course, if you use your own ftp programme, rather than the one built in to PP, then you would have to ensure it was uploaded.

Yes, in my particular case the thumbnail link leads to a separate page for the large image but I also use that page to include more detailed information and sometimes other related images.

i knew you would be thereabouts, always comes to my rescue, so what you are saying is: if i create a link to a picture on my hard drive, WP7 will also upload the bigger picture as well.
