Default Contact Form issue

When I use a contact form, I want to use the option "An Email Address" since I don't like the default sheriff one.

so, when I use my e-mail, it doesn't transfer the subject and the text into the e-mail.

What am I missing here?

Thank you

When I last tried using 'An email address' Internet Explorer displayed two scary warning messages. I understand using 'An email address' does not work if the PC or mobile device does not have email software installed.

If your host supports PHP, I suggest you use the free Forms To Go Lite. Integration guide here and video tutorial here.

Hello,

There is a known issue with Internet Explorer which prevents forms being submitted via email address.

Unfortunately this is an issue with Internet Explorer itself, therefore if a different browser is used (such as chrome) then the information should be transferred to your default mail app successfully.

Really like the program, was going to do an option, but wouldn't let me, since I need the full version.
(can't set a HTML page for the error)
Now.... they are not supporting it anymore, so waisting $30 on something that is not supported

Are there other programs that can do this type of thing?

Using the free Lite version you can redirect to an HTML web page on error; use 'Settings' > 'Landing pages' and enter the full URL of the web page (http-----.html). I use this and display something like "Sorry there was an error submitting the form; please contact us by telephone".

With the full version it is possible to use the page with the form on it as a landing page and to display error message(s) for invalid fields. This is described in the Forms To Go help documentation. I know Ali, a member of this forum, uses this method.

You could try using Tectite FormMail instead of Forms To Go. Hopefully someone will be able to provide a link to a guide to using it with WebPlus written by Frank B, but I much prefer Forms To Go.

Try this.

Create your thank you page in W+. Call it for example:

contact-form-thank-you.html

Open the FTG PHP script in a text editor, Notepad, WOrdpad, Notepad++(best option).

Find the line at the bottom that looks like:

PHP Code:
mail($to,$email_subject,$email_body,$headers);
Under that paste the following:

PHP Code:
//redirect to the 'thank you' page
header('Location: ./contact-form-thank-you.html');
Should now look like:

PHP Code:
mail($to,$email_subject,$email_body,$headers);
//redirect to the 'thank you' page
header('Location: ./contact-form-thank-you.html');
Should work.

There may be something like the following when you first open the script:

PHP Code:
$successPage '<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /><title>Success</title></head><body>Form submitted successfully. It will be reviewed soon.</body></html>';

$successPage str_replace('<!--FIELDVALUE:NAME-->'$FTGNAME$successPage);
$successPage str_replace('<!--FIELDVALUE:EMAIL-->'$FTGEMAIL$successPage);
$successPage str_replace('<!--FIELDVALUE:PHONE-->'$FTGPHONE$successPage);
$successPage str_replace('<!--FIELDVALUE:UPLOAD-->'

echo
$successPage
Delete all that.
