Default So many bugs in WP X7!!!

Every time I work within WP X7 I am finding more and more bugs! Today I found that when previewing navigation bars for inclusion in sites, I keep receiving the message saying preview cannot show and do I want to disable it and saying I can re-enable in tools.

Why has such a bug-ridden program been released?

See this from the "other place":

https://community.serif.com/forum/47...37#answer20589

Quote:
This is caused by the way WPX7 requests the (Javascript) navigation bars on those pages to render. It affects anyone with IE 11 and can be seen in WebPlus X5 and X6 also...

Workaround: Choose the Master A page and right click on the empty Nav Bar box, then choose 'Edit Navigation Bar' then select the 'Type' tab, choosing any Nav Bar returns the Nav Bar (e.g. the default one already selected,) fine to all pages...

... That is a good temporary work around until the patch is released. When you change the navbar away from a javascript type to the default then yes it will preview again. Once we release a patch you may go back to the javascript type that you wish to publish.

How will they ever find all of the bugs if they don't release it? Would you be happy to wait ten years for each upgrade?

I don't want to pick fault with what you said there but seriously do you think its up to the end user to test buggy software? Free beta testing from paying customers. Noooo, that can't be right.

Windows XP was released with over 4000 known issues. Even Windows 8 gets patches almost every month for issues. ALL software is released with 'known' issues whether or not these issues impact a large percentage of users.

Personally, I think Serif does a great job with the resources they have.

I totally agree Jim with what you say. I was really exited when Serif released this version and rushed t purchase it so as to support their software. I am now finding loads of bugs (please see my other bugs post) which is most annoying seeing what we paid.

Some of you guys would not last 10 seconds at a job interview with me.

We do, however, keep hour customers for decades.

. . . erm . . . Beta testers? Put it this way, would Serif be happy to accept your debit card number without first testing it! Of course they wouldn't. They should treat their own side of the contract in the same way, by having their product tested before taking your money! If they don't like the sound of that then they should allow the buyer to test the product before parting with his money, in the same way that Serif test your money before parting with their product!

You couldn't afford my wages. Incidentally, its the paying customer (including me) who has a say in whether you keep your job or not. Food for sarcastic thought.

I think *we* could, haha. Money is never the problem. Attitude and chemistry is. I am part of a huge thing, not a small company, I have to tell you. We do not use Serifs products, of course.

I keep my job and we keep our customers because we work so hard to release the best we possibly can. We have very, very satisfied customers, so I keep my job. And my recent raise too. You see, I and my team of employees find these bugs, and we refine our procedures on a DAILY basis to make sure we find as many bugs as possible. I am very aware of the role of the customer, that is the whole point. Customer is king and customers vote with their feet.

So all of the rubbish in this thread is terrible reading.

I didn't say they didn't. What I said was; its not up to the user to act as unpaid beta testers. I'm not interested in M$ as they have to react to whatever threats are coming on a daily basis, new technology and hardware. I think they also do a good job with the resources they have. Hang on I haven't a clue what resources they actually have nor, do you with Serif really, do you?

There are a few motels in Vegas that can make the same claim!

Look in the mirror is all I would say to the last point. As for not using Serif's software, why are you on here then? Are you a troll?

edit. I see you needed to add something else to support you're wanderings. What has anything you've said got to do with Serif software. So you appear to be a bug tester. Do it better because you're rubbish at it.

Hahaha, "no you are"

Troll? That term still exists?

I use some of it at home, for fun, minor things, brainstorm (DrawPlus fx), I think the software has potential, but the number of bugs in key features and workflows do not impress me. X7 was simply unsuable but I only use if for a few things for my personal use, so no big loss.

In the absence of something else it fits the bill. What exactly are you doing on this forum again?
It can't be to add any value so what?

Enough guys, this is getting a little out of hand and more of a slanging match so this thread is now being closed to avoid unnecessary flame wars, please keep these kind of comments to private messages and not publically.
