Default improper argument?!

What on earth does it mean when you get an error message like:
Page Plus has found an improper argument

I've individually converted each of my 35 chapters to pdf in Page Plus except for one chapter that crashes the program. I have the latest version of the program, I've copy pasted to another file, combed the material for errant formatting, deleted the one picture, replaced the one picture, danced around, kicked and cursed at my computer.

solar flares?
anyone?

If you could attach the errant file, with all images embedded, or if its too big post a link to the file on dropbox or wherever, we might be able to find out what the problem is rather than getting into an improper argument.

It may be nothing to do with this, but in mathematics, I believe an argument can be the contents in a bracket in a maths formula, like the "t/32" in the expression "Sin(t/32)".

Sometimes, buried deep in an application program, not on the surface anything to do with mathematics, some calculations are performed. Perhaps to do with scaling, or changing point size, or anything you can think of.

If the maths part can't calculate the required formula, it might return an error message about the maths, and halt or crash the program. This could be a bad argument, the maths part can't handle.

One sometimes used to get the serious error: "Divide by zero attempted". (Never mind why that can't be done, that's another story., although simply put, for any number N, N/0 = infinity, and outside the range of what a computer can handle.) It would surprise you if you were writing in a text editor, wouldn't it?

So it probably has nothing to do with your problem, although it could be a symptom of something wrongly attempted.

In fact the word 'argument' is generally used in computer programming to refer to parameters fed to a subroutine. See here.

That's true, but I believe that, in a final version program, the developers would have blocked any improper arguments in the subroutine sense. That should be true also for a numerical program, of course, except possibly user written calculating routines.
I used to add a tiny value to any variable that could go to zero where later division by that variable occurred. This was often easier in a "quick" program than loads of "if" statements to check the zero value.

Gotta go, her indoors wants a hand.
