Welcome to the forums.

I would guess that you used Crop to Selection, and that you have a value specified for Feather in the upper toolbar.

If not, the .spp file might give clue.

Perhaps the Tay is still tainted from the disaster recounted by William McGonagal.

When you choose one of the Selection Tools, the Context toolbar (usually displayed just below the Standard Toolbar at the top of the workspace) includes a Feather control for ... er ... feathering the selection by a specified number of pixels. If you don't want any feathering, set the value to zero; if you do want feathering but you want transparency instead of the current background colour, right-click the Background Layer on the Layers tab and choose 'Promote to Layer' before you crop the image.

I assume that this is a screen grab, rather than the actual picture. Depending on the settings, this is how the preview is displayed!

It could be, or it could be the exported picture. I agree with Geoff. It's most likely a Crop to Selection with a fairly high value specified for Feather in the shape selection tool context toolbar, and the background colour in the colour tab was red at the time.

The only way to be sure though is for Vid to post the .spp file

Morning all,
Once again thanks to all that responded.
It was the 'feather setting', it was at 33, I have reset this too 0 and all is fine.
At least I know what the feather tool does now

Cheers
