Hi,
Welcome to the forums.

I suggest you open a new thread, but I will list a few things here:
1. Uptime/reliability... look for 99.9%
2. Support... do they respond quickly to your tickets?
3. Reviews... if there are loads of bad reviews for them, don't go there?
4. Features... do they offer your requirements, e.g bandwidth, disk space, maybe extras like Softaculous 1 click scripts, or email forwarding, etc.
5. Price... least important but actually plays a strong role in your decision!

"Jasper's" hosting is through a 1and1 account.

I have 50GB webspace, unlimited bandwidth, 50 FTP passwords etc all for £6.99 a month.

But the support is very bad (and I am being polite here!)
I also have an issue today where all the e mail is down, i am not sure if it is just my account or the whole 1and 1 system. Doesnt bode well for the future!

That "1&1 Standard" package is available direct from 1&1 for £4.99 + vat per month.

From a customer of 1&1 for approaching 8 years and a number of packages and a domain count I will not go into.
To one of, I believe, a months experience: I can count on one hand the number of problems I have had - their support (I get a freephone number) has always been excellent.

Judging from your other post on the the subject, you got an apology - don't get that from every host!

I stand corrected, the 1and1 package I have is £4.99 a month.
Even better value (provided the problem yesterday was a one off.)
It is reassurung to know that someone has had relatively few if any problems with their 1and1 package.

The good news is my emails are working again this morning.
But, I sent a few whilst checking the form on my website and I never got those so they (and any others have been permanently lost.

Whilst this is unlikely to have cost me anything over the last 24 hours it could have hurt any e commerce sites sales. Not great 1and1.
