Default Scissor Tool in CA2

I posted this over at DaisyTrail, but thought maybe anyone here as any ideas.

In CA1 in the Scissor Tool options there was punches and I would use the square for example and be able to use a little slider to round the edges a bit (radius of corners). I understand the punches option in CA2 is no longer in the Scissor Tools options, but when I overlay a punch onto a paper now, I can't seem to find the slider to adjust the edges like I could before. Am I missing something?

I made sure the context toolbar is ticked in the popup menu, but when I click on the scissor tool the only options are smoothness, wavelength, amplitude and scissor type. There is no longer the punches option. I'm assuming because the punches option is next to stencils now. But when I use that punches option next to stencils and overlay say a square on a paper, I can no longer find how to adjust the radius of the corners (i.e. round them). I used that feature a lot in CA1 and it was very easy to access. I hope they didn't take it away.

Here is a workaround that was suggested, but it's a pain.
I used the shape options to create a square (or any other quick shape) and the ability to adjust the radius of the corners is there. So when I got the shape the way I wanted it, I then could drag it to the punches. Although this works, it is a total pain in the neck. I like the ability to just adjust it apply it, and if I'm not pleased, just hit undo and try again. I don't want to make a new punch for every shape I need a adjusted. I wish they would just put the basic quick shape punches back in the scissor category, or just give us the ability to do this with all the punches.

That sounds like a long way for a shortcut! It's also quite unnecessary unless you want to reuse exactly the same shape.

In any version of CraftArtist or DSA you can use the 'Join' commands on the Arrange menu or the Arrange tab. Create a QuickShape, adjust it as required and then place it on top of the item you want to punch. Shift-click the other item — so that both items are selected — and then click the 'Subtract' icon on the Arrange tab to punch a hole (or 'Intersect' to keep the punched area).

I hope this helps.

The only problem now is when you make a quick shape you are unable to change the line to bump, wavy, saw, square, etc. The only option would then be to use the roughen tool to choose, bump, wavy, etc. The only problem with this is that there is no option to change the wavelength or amplitude. They just need to give us our quick shape punches back in the scissors option!

There's been a lot more development on this idea on DT, using a brush to make your edge gives the best result - better that we had when we could use the bump pattern. It's in this thread but work your way through until you get to the posts by Lily (Angie) who describes the method so well:

New Scalloped Edges

Hope this helps!
