Default Serif Art gallery

Hi all,

I have a disc from Serif with the book of fonts, clip art and similar, to be used with Page Plus/DrawPlus. Copyright 1996.

I stopped using a PC & page plus some years ago, and switched to a Mac. The Art Gallery ( a great collection) became unusable. Last time I accessed the Gallery, was via PPlus v11.

Grateful for any advice whether the Gallery files can be updated, converted, repurchased..etc to work with my Mac OSx 10.5.+

The clipart is in WMF format. Provided that you don't need the special image browser program, other image programs should be able to use these clipart files.

Does your Mac have a program which will open WMF files?

Thanks for the response.

This is what I'm worried about. That Serif has ring fenced their gallery.

>>Does your Mac have a program which will open WMF files?

The search starts now :-)

OpenOffice3.org, on my Mac, is able to open wmf files. To open a new doc, including text & Art Gallery's graphics/clip art was tricky, with a steep learning curve.

But it works splendido. Well done that man RichardS

Good, Open Office is normally rather short on clipart.

Perhaps the next challenge is to find a way of adding the clipart in the Art Gallery, to the "Gallery" in Open Office?

RichardS The next step for me is to find where I've stashed my copy as I too liked the images it contained.... and then figure out how to use them in WP, PP as well as OO. That's the one thing I miss about the MSSuite....... access to the MS Gallery online.

Although much of it is rather "retro," perhaps Serif should... perhaps Serif already has... re-issue this clipart in a more modern image format?

I have many of the same images in CGM and/or SYM formats, supplied with SPC Harvard Graphics for DOS.

The Serif Art Gallery was published in WMF format by SPC/Serif before the Serif HQ moved to UK.

I also have a lot of clipart in PCX format - which is still accessible; and in Wordperfect WPG format - which I cannot access. (I seem to remember that some MS Office programs could import WPG images.)

ps. Later versions of MS Office lacked "useful" clipart.

RichardS

I know that I have both. When I find them and install them, I'll be back to ask for simple step-by-step to access them.

I recall being really surprised that HG included DP
