Default Affinity Designer beta available now!

We’re over the moon to announce the public beta of the exciting new Mac-only Vector Art & Design package, Affinity Designer!

Affinity Designer is the first in a new range of creative applications developed by a new dedicated research team within Serif called SerifLabs. The Affinity range was created with goals of groundbreaking speed, accuracy, professional quality and scalability.

Affinity Designer intuitively combines vector art with flexible layer management and a comprehensive range of raster tools to achieve a truly mixed-media, multi-discipline design tool. Affinity Designer is pro focused with deep 16-bits per channel support, professional colour models, accurate Photoshop import and much more—all delivered with outstanding performance!

The Affinity range is Mac only so if you already have a modern Mac then just signup for the beta at Affinity.Serif.com. If you don’t have a Mac then buy one they’re great. Please feel free to pass this invite onto other people that may also have a Mac.

Many thanks,
Tony Brightman (Head of SerifLabs)

Is Serif planning to offer heavily discounted Macs to their customers?

Looks like the last Mac I used, although that one had a posh second floppy drive (no hard disk): Program in one drive; data in the other.

The floppy drives were those weird variable-speed ones Apple used to use, so as well as its smiley face, that Mac used to hum tunes while it worked.

I'd be interested to know if this will span into iPad's? I've tried and tested virtually all the drawing apps available and still haven't found one that I feel completely comfortable with. Procreate is probably one of the best but lacks a simple way to create lines and shapes.

Is Google's SVG editor any good on an iPad?

iPad Apps will come but only after the Mac range has been established.

No, any touch of the workspace only moves the page around, even after selecting a tool from the left of the UI
