Default Image size when exporting to jpg

Hi all, need help here,

When a DrawPlusX4 image with page properties set at 300dpi is exported to JPG at 300dpi and 'super sample', why does the image size appear at 96dpi when opened in PhotoPlusX6?

Its physical size is the same e.g. 6ins x 6ins in DrawPlus and Image size in PhotoPlus is 6ins x 6ins.

If the 'customer' needs a jpg at 300dpi what should I do?

Thanks

John L

Send him the file exported from DrawPlus, or upgrade to PhotoPlus X7, which has fixed this issue. You can also change the image resolution in PhotoPlus without altering the number of pixels by using the Image Size and Resolution dialogue.

DPI is irrelevant except for page layout programs. Printers routinely request 300 dpi images, when what they should request is minimum pixel dimensions, e.g. 1,800 x 1,800 pixels for your image.

Hi Bhikkhu Pesala,

Thanks for your speedy reply. I did send the DPx4 file, anyway, but I thought I would check what it looked like in PhotoPlus.

Best wishes, thanks
