Default Video tutorial - Exporting eBooks with images.

Hi everyone:

For the last few weeks, I've been exploring different ways to keep myself from becoming bored. I made a couple of tutorials on YouTube for a friend who wanted to know what DrawPlus had to offer.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the whole process and since then have decided that it's something I would like to do more often.

Like most people, my first one or two (maybe more than that ) I was nervous and I think you could tell this from the way I was speaking... oh well

I've just completed a tutorial on embedding images in an eBook, as quite a few people I know personally (and on the forum) have been having issues when it came to exporting.

Here is a link, let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is always handy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWEy-Pmt_Bg

I'm aware that this might not be how everyone does it, but this is one of the methods that I use. I'm also sure that my way of narrating, mixed with my faded London accent is more than most people can stomach lol, but it's all done in a bid to try help other people and I hope you can see past the flaws

Take care and thanks in advance.

Wonderful video Peejay, you make an excellent teacher and your video quality is one of the clearest I've seen for a long time. Well Done and thank you for this good service!
Serif should snap you up.

PeeJay.....I tried creating an epub 3 pages long after auto flowing the text, from the advice in your video, but every time I add a picture, the text at the end of the document is removed to accommodate the picture, so the document stays at 3 pages and continually looses text every time a picture is added?

Do you have any idea how to correct this problem?

PP does not lose text, it moves the surplus it into overflow, and all the frames in the series, except the last, will display a red downward pointing arrowhead at bottom right. The last frame in the series will display a green + and a red square there side by side. The green +, if clicked, will autoflow the text into new additional frames, while clicking the red square allows you to link the frame to empty frames you have created, and flow the overflow into them.

If all but the last frame have a green downward pointing arrow head, and the last frame has a black square at bottom right, there is no overflow.

I did record a part to cover that problem, but for some reason, failed to put it into the video before producing it

I have had to re-record that part tonight as I must have deleted it. I've now uploaded a new version of the tutorial and updated the link at the top of this page. I've included the problem you were facing as a 'quick tip' at the end of the video. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I've just watched a tutorial of yours (the one about the light streaks), it's really good and I don't think it looks **** at all What software are you using to screen record? and also how long have you been doing tutorials?

I've used several recording programs over the years, but "Debut" from NCH Software was always my favorite. Unfortunately, it didn't transition to Windows 8, so I had to start using something else. :-/

Couldn't really say how many years ago my first tutorial was created, but it was a while ago. ;-)

I think this is a great tut, I know it's not trivial to make them. I might have mentioned that you can import images directly from the file system using Import Picture on the Tools Toolbar (or Insert Menu > Picture > From File...), but there's a lot of ways to skin this cat and you can't cover everything.

Again, good job and thanks for making the effort.

Thank you all for the comments. It's reassuring to know that some people are finding them helpful

New video for PagePlus X7 is going to be released hopefully by the weekend. Going to cover the creation of ebooks from start to finish, using styles to create new chapters, bookmarks etc. So keep your eyes open

Tried to view the tutorial, but the account has been closed. Perhaps you moved to another account?

Been having headaches with this process for days and the better half is getting a bit upset that I can't publish her book WITH pics.

I'm currently in the process of redoing some of the videos for a new channel, but I have no idea when they will be completed and re-uploaded. What part in particular are you having problems with and it might be possible to help you here?

Having trouble adding pics to an epub.

When I add a 2 1/2" tall image at the top of the page, it's like putting in a page break. The image takes up the rest of the page.

Must be something I am not getting from the help files.

I insert the image inline, and every time I get lots of errors.

Have you tried adjusting the wrap settings of the picture?
