Sri Lanka (& many other countries throughout South & South-East Asia) are celebrating New Year.

In Bengali Calender Tomorrow (14th April, 2012) will be the 1st day of Bengali year 1419 (Bangabda).

So, "Subho Nababarsha" (A Happy New Year)

Well, Happy New Year for tomorrow, Arun.

I had thought that it would be 14th rather than 13th. But perhaps (any excuse for a holiday) Sri Lanka celebrates New Year Eve (as well).

I'd heard that some of the coloured powder sold for the Holi festival contained nasty chemicals.

That's the only reason I will never attend that festival again. When I was young someone put some color in my face and it brought me to hospital for few days. But now a days it is changing.... very slowly, but it is changing and many companies comes with colours which made from flowers & non toxic materials.
