Unhappy no regular hatch with colored lines??

Hello

I need a background for my brochure. It should be blue and it should have 45 Lines all over the sheet. Lines should have the same colour as the deepblue from the regluar gradient filling. See pic attached. (i made it with another App) Here i made two rectangles. One filled with the gradient, the other transparent hatch with blue lines. Stack them both, put on top of each other - thats what iam looking for.

Is there no way to draw a simple regular hatch, AND i need to color the lines of it.

I need your

Thank you very much! Michael

Make your own, export to picture, import to bitmap swatches.

The group of replicated lines shows you how it's done. Select the group, export as picture. Then import into the bitmap swatches.

Just recolour, or change the line weight if you need something different. There's no need to produce rotated fills — the fill tool can be used to rotate and scale bitmap fills.

Ok i export my hatch from my other tool and import it to my lyout. It is working, BUT this is a image then, not a filling. As soon i transform the rectangle the hatch will transform too. I have to cut the grafik to the right size.

It woud be better (easier) if Pageplus would have a regular filling with hatches, and a possibility to colour the hatchlines. Also a option to choose transparent background o the hatch oder solid color.

Maybe one of the programmers read this. I guess i would not be the only one which would be happy be adding this in a future release

Another way the effect is dead esy to achieve - just use Quickshape > Quick Grill with a transparent fill - Line thickness, colour, spacing, trasparency can all be set very easily. Overlay that on Quickshape rectangle the same size. I'd suggest make the size the largest you are likely to want. Combine the two - Now background and line colour and transparency can just be changed. Rotate if needed. Save that object as an asset.

Then whenever you want that as your background just draw a Quickshape to the correct size. Bring the saved asset onto your page, overlay the correct size Quick shape - Tools > Crop to shape - Job done.

Yep, this is also a good idea - if you need a small shape filled with lines, but i need the complete background filled. In Quick Gril there are max 20 shapes. i also tried out quickshape-table, with just one row. This brings the best result - but only 26 rows are possible with this.

still: the easiest would be a very simple hatch fill function.

You are only limited by your imagination. A simple hatch fill function, I would suggest there is no such thing, everyone will have a different interpretation based on what they are doing at the time. Some will want it to scale with the final object, others will want it to stay the same, others will want different thicknesses etc.

PagePlus allows you to do all of that very simply. Not sure how many lines are on the attached but there are lots. I'll treble it if you like!

Yet another way is to create a large table with just one column, but as many rows as you like. In Cell Properties add lines between the rows (any style or colour you want). Rotate the table by 45, Convert to picture (32 bit png), place a copy of the rectangle over it, and Crop to shape. Place the result over the original rectangle.
