Yeah I meant Surreal CMS.

My issue is that the photo album doesnt allow class = "editing" as all the html is greyed out.

Does anyone know how to enable it in x6 so my client can amend it through the Surreal CMS

Without rereading the thread (so I could be wrong), but I think it was commented that the galleries could not be updated from Surreal CMS.

However, with WebPlus X6, you can link the galleries to Flickr, etc. so that the gallery updates automatically according to which images are in the Flickr feed.

I think so. Just read down through the thread that TomR linked to, but as far as I can remember that would be the way. I have a client who needs to use Pulse CMS for the text and images, Google for the gCalendar, and Flickr for the gallery... less than ideal

Hi Wes,

I have done extensive testing on Surreal CMS over the last few weeks & have found it does have issues with WP at times as found by other forum members, especially if you use the clean up code option, then reload that page from WP in the future.

I have had several emails with Surreal tech support & they confirm the way WP writes code isn't overly compatible with their product & they have had the same issue occur often with WP users.

I love Surreal's interface, but a CMS needs to be consistent.

So I then moved on to Page Lime which has the same sort of client interface & I have been rigorously testing it- so far I can't break it!

I have a client testing it also at the moment who has so far reported no problems.

Although Page Lime's interface isn't as tidy as Surreal's it does have a good option for photo editing as it allows editors to upload photos into folders to use later in their sites, it also has an image optimiser you can enable, but depends on how much freedom you want to give clients wether you would use it or not.

Although one small issue is it doesn't maintain WP created photo borders, you need to use css or a separate quick shape border if you require photo borders.

None of them can edit images inside WP galleries or lightboxes, only static images.
I think other galleries like Flickr etc would be the easiest option.

I'll be posting my final testing results in the near future.

Hope that is helpful.

Why not just use Pulse for the CMS and the gallery? Your client can upload their own photos to the Pulse galleries without any need for Flickr.

Hey there,

If someone wants to setup a test gallery on one of their sites we'd be happy to take a look and see what the issue is. Admittedly, I'm not a WebPlus guru but we can work with the resulting HTML and see why it's not working for you. Just send a quick email to us through the CMS with a link to the test page/gallery and I'll see what we can do

Also, there should be no reason you can't use repeatable regions to make each photo automatically appear with the correct border.

I suspect once hands on, you'll upgrade to the latest and greatest, WebPlus X6.

I guess it's too much to expect, but is Surreal are trying to help make their CMS work well with Serif WebPlus, maybe Serif would help trying to get them to integrate together...

We'll definitely have to check it out. There are other software packages out there that face similar issues (RapidWeaver comes to mind in the Mac world). I'd love to see a solution that any any app could link into for preserving content changes when re-publishing. It would probably be a simple API on our end, but would still require development support from the app makers to fully automate it.
