Since 1999 I'm a user of QXP (3.2 - 7.0 and of course Indesign from 1 to 5.5) produced a monthly magazin from 80 to 120 pages.

Over 10 years I converted delivered art works (PDF) into bitmap (to place them into the layout-software).
Now where thinking about switching entirely to serif software for most jobs...

But I'm missing a secure PDF rasterisation into CMYK (JPG, EPS, TIF or what ever)

This is one of the most important feature I'm missing in my now tested X5 Version.

  1. Increase the maximum zoom level to 5000% like other Serif apps, needed for editing icons
  2. Add large icon set for toolbars
  3. Let PhotoPlus edit its own toolbar icons
  4. Improve export size/quality for JPG images
  5. Add support for progressive JPG images
  6. Improve PNG compression filters for optimal file size
  7. Import and export APNG animated PNG images. Create from single images or convert from animated GIF.
  8. Support import/export of multipage TIF images
  9. Support the ICO image format
  10. Completely rewrite the Batch operations dialogue so that it is usable
  11. Improve handling of very large images 100 Megapixels should not be a problem to load and edit.
  12. Enable batch scanning.
  13. Add 64-bit scanning support.
  14. Add option to resume from last time.

Sounds like you are asking for a new program!

I've just finished a job: alpha channel cut out from over 140 pics.
I switched back to photoshop to finisch my work in this year :-)

So: Improove the path an cut out tools. The cutout studio is nice, but not suitable if you have to cut out over 100 pics.

You will need to explain specifically why you find it slow to use. Perhaps you just don't know how to use it as well as you know how to use the tools in PhotoShop.

Compare this feature to Photoshop and I'm sure it will be optimized :-)

I couldn't figure out how to use the path function like e.g. in DrawPlus!

- Drawing the desired path in ONE step - not possible (in Drawplus is the path-tool perfect!)
- closing - not easy
- make a selection - ok
- invert it - (Could be there have'nt found it...)
- remove it - ok
- remove empty space arround the object (very usefull) - (Could be there have'nt found it...)
- save the image with transparent background in a png - ok

Meg has a spectacular aura about
Default Ebook cover?

I posted in the wrong thread previously - sorry! How about the ability to create an ebook cover? I mean the kind you can attach to the front of a PDF and that looks like a book standing vertically, showing the spine and a few pages?

In my view Draw Plus has the Pen/Path tool just like Photoshop.

Using PhotoPlus's pen tool for a cutout job is just a Pain. PhotoPlus should have a pen/path tool just like Drawplus or Photoplus.

1. Please make Cutout Studio SMARTER: It should automatically detect where the border line must be straighter, less serrated, e.g. along the straight border of an object. Equally it should also automatically detect where the border line must be more detailed. This should be an option.

2. It should be possible for the user to define areas (with a selection frame) where the border line must be straighter, less serrated, and vice versa.

Default Re: PhotoPlus X7 - Wishlist - Import *.abr brushes.

If no one has already proposed this, it would be great to import photoshop style abr brushes as there are so many free ones out there. I know there are several programs to convert abr to png but it is a clunky way of doing it.

Make the PhotoPlus zoom functions the same as for WebPlus, PagePlus and DrawPlus and put them together in the bottom right corner.

Much of what I'd like have improved/changed is posted. The one thing that has not been suggested is that all copy and paste functions also copy and paste EXIF data along with the pixels.

I predominately use Photoshop Elements 11 and Topaz plugins. Now Serif can sieze an opportunity because Elements 12 is a massive step backwards and I won't buy it. I use Photoplus cos it intergrates with webplus. BUT I would like to see a less cluttered screen, a lot more hotkeys. Also text is tacky especially on a path. Many processes are not intuitive.

There's a fullscreen mode, and the interface is customisable to suit your needs.
