Post Re: PhotoPlus X7 - Wishlist

It looks like this was more of an update than upgrade of Photoplus X6.

Looking at the list of new features in PhotoPlus X6, I find it hard to reach the same conclusion.

Post Re: PhotoPlus X7 - Wishlist

I just opened a 48bit Png file in photoshop Elements 11 all plugins worked even in 16bit per channel mode. All of topazes Plugins work in 16bits per channel. When run in any version of photo plus only 8bit per channel work.
Even Filter forge worked in 16bits per channel in PSE 11.
Why is this thier peogram is even 32 bit.

To get corner 'handles', use the Deform tool. You can then grab a corner and rotate.
I am using Both my plug-ins work in 16 bit color mode in PhotoPlus none wiil. Even functions native in the program work in 16bits per color there. Sure they are both are to use but plugins only work in 8 bit color mode.

Through Versions of similar programs (Adobe and Serif) This still exists.

Alfred
With an operating system fox example Windows xp updates were service packs upgrades was going from windows xp to windows 7 or windows 8. For example also Windows Vista to windows 7.

When a upgrade was done alot of the limitations and problems were fixed from windows Vista to Windows 7.

Lets compare PhotoPlus X5 And PhotoPlus X6.
Plug-ins and filters still work the same way.

Filters that only worked in 8 bit mode still only work in 8 bit mode. And this is with out instaling any plugins .

If i install a plugin in PSE 9or 11 All plugins work nomatter what color mode I am in those programs. If i buy a Serif Program it is almost like buying a trial program with features locked out.

Macro recording sucks. Why doesn't it keep track of layer ordering? This is essential for many of the full-screen video effects I'm creating.

It would be good if you could use the centre mouse wheel pressed down to pan around in the photo, when zoomed in, like other programs ie AutoCad

WIA support under 64-bit hosts. Photoplus X6 has a 64bit variant, WIA has a 64bit variant, my scanner works fine under other 64bit WIA programs. Why must you make it such a chore to scan?

Paste In-place:
In most other image editing suites (Paint.NET being one prime example) if you select an area and copy/paste the area will be pasted in place in the current/new layer, instead of being placed at the image origin (0,0 top left). Can we at least have a checkbox to choose paste in-place or paste at origin behavior?

Intelligent New Document:
Paint.NET has a nifty feature wherein it will look at the clipboard when the user is going to start a new image/project. If it finds a supported image, it will default the new project to that image's dimensions and colorspace/bitdepth.

This is a fantastic, intuitive, and slick feature. I highly recommend you add this to PhotoPlus

Doesn't 'Layers > New Layer from Selection Copy' (Ctrl+J) do what you want?

Yep. Why the paste function doesn't behave like that is beyond comprehension though.

This worries me and is going to stop me buying into X6 if this is the case, plugins should be bit independent when it comes to processing, 64bit plugins should work in the 64bit app and indeed 32bit plugins should be bridged by the app (Maybe a feature of x7)

Please sort out the RAW converter. Only 2 out of the 8 current Canon EOS models are supported. This spoils an otherwise excellent piece of software.
