UPDATE:

Just off the phone with Homestead Tech Support.

Not only is it no longer possible to use an external FTP app, like the one in WebPlus, to upload a site to Homestead's hosting, the online Site Mover is not functional.

See the attached screenshot.

The working method is to import a single html page and then upload other files, one by one, into the root folder and then move them into appropriate folders.

To upload to Homestead:

Publish to Disk Folder

Download and install Homestead's SiteBuilder

Log into the account

Consider deleting the files in the root

Click IMPORT

Browse to the Disk folder

There is no way I could find to upload more than one file at a time, so just get comfy.

This exercise uploading to Homestead and other hosts like it makes me truly appreciate the ftp tool in WebPlus and especially Incremental Update.

The last time I uploaded file-by-file was in December 1999 when yahoo/geocities stopped allowing external ftp. Either pay or do the file-by-file bit. I was using PagePlus webmode at the time.

Mr Site Web Hosting

FTP Address: www.yourname and suffix
Port No.21
Folder: WWWROOT
User name: your name an suffix (no www)
Password: YOUR PASSWORD (CAPITALS)
Passive mode: unchecked
Advanced settings: none

Name pages of site .htm not html

Cheap hosting if you purchase Mr Site Beginner from Amazon for £13.99, got mine for £8 from E.bay. Includes .com, co.uk, net name. Good for a short term site after 1 year you will have to pay the full price if you wish to continue.

Hi! I'm new to WebPlus (and I LOVE it). I use yahoo web hosting and was dismayed to find this message today:

We are making the move to only supporting FTPS.

As of February 19, 2013, Yahoo! Small Business will complete the transition to only supporting FTPS.

If you use a tool to publish your website that is not provided by Yahoo!, such as Yahoo! SiteBuilder or Site Solution, you will need to take action. In order to prevent any issues when uploading new content to your website, make sure you have updated your FTP client to use FTPS settings instead of FTP.

Will using the settings you listed above allow my site to remain without any problems?

THANK YOU.

Welcome to the Serif forums, Tammy.

As explained here, WebPlus does support FTPS, so those settings should still work. If you find that you're having problems in three days' time, you may need to seek advice on tweaking the 'Advanced' settings in that dialog.

Tammy,

I host a couple of sites at Yahoo. The attached shows the layout of the FTP info, with the encryption checked.
