Thumbs down Stitching problem

Hi, I have scanned and rescanned a paper pattern. From 12 to 30 images, making sure I overlapped by 50% and marked any blank spaces with lines. It still returns saying "these images cannot be stitched because no matching features have been found". Please advise if my software could be corrupt. Have there been any updates lately?
Thank you
Dragana

Patches/updates to Serif software are located here...

I don't have SSS, but maybe if you look in the preferences/settings, there might be an option or an adjustment for "matching" or for "sensitivity" or for "stitching" or similar. If there is, try changing the setting, and rescanning. Might have to change the setting and rescan/restitch several times to find a setting that works.

Good photography. It's complicated.

Hi Jim,

no such luck - I really liked this software. It was doing a great job and now I have no idea what it is. Have emailed Technical support - hopefully they will get back to me soon.

cheers

Did you resolve your problem? If not, try MS Image Composite Editor and see if that gives acceptable results. I have had good results on some images, and its certainly a lot quicker and easier to use than SSS. Just drag and drop the images onto the window and let it do its business. Crop, then export in a variety of file types.

Yes I did resolve my stitching problem. I was scanning on High Resolution instead of Low. I draft dress pattern with a lead pencil and it appears that the Low resolution is more suited. Also I try to overlap by 50% and check that all the images are the same size - I use a portable hand held scanner.
What is MS Composite Image Editor - who makes this product? and how much is it?

thanks for your help
