WebPlus X6: WPX6 Uses So Much Resources Hard to Upload

Hello,

I have been trying to upload a full site in WPX6 but it is so difficult, it takes up a lot of memory and cpu usage. Memory is 144MB and CPU is 50%. That is causing total computer slow down and after one hour I cannot even see the incremental upload dialog box.

Very disappointed with this new WP and do not know what to do as I have to wait to see if I can upload this site. It is a large site as wpp is 33MB not sure if this is the issue but it should not be.

It may be that you have checked to allow WP to upload a back-up file - if so, uncheck this option and try again. You can back up the .wpp file another way.

No this option is unticked. It was taking so, so long I used the local publish instead which took a time but not as long. I am now uploading by my ftp.

Not sure if the built in ftp is just slow or this new version has issues.

No issues here using the built in FTP client of WPX6, however, with regards to slow, then yes I agree with you if comparing it to other third party FTP clients such as FileZilla etc.

I've always found that other clients outside of the program upload at greater speeds than Webplus, whether this is down to the program reading the DB file prior and matches things already uploaded against what you have set to update, I can't really advise.

But you then get the catch 22 question, do you sacrifice correct uploads for upload speed (Webplus knows exactly where things need to go) which people often get wrong when using third party FTP clients and things go to the wrong directories on the hosting server and then post on the forums saying their site doesn't work correctly.

But could not wait 2 - 3 hours to upload a site, I think this is to do with the built in ftp.

I uploaded fine with a separate ftp program but seeing a few issues from the local publish upload.

Have to either abandon WPX6 or stick with a separate ftp upload.

When this has happened to me, it has almost always been because I was trying to upload files with capitalized letters in the name. Once I've realized that and corrected the file names, up she goes!

Will check this out and see if this is an issue, I know the remove caps is ticked in WP but will see.
