Default Move existing co.uk site to Serif

Recently there was a similar post to this but unfortunately it got so confusing with people talking about sub domains and email that I was none the wiser in the end.

So here goes, I have a web site hosted by Mr. Site i.e. mysite.co.uk can I move it to Serif Gold hosting (which includes a co.uk name) and have it hosted at Serif still as mysite.co.uk Mr Site will allow me to move the site name away.

Many thanks
Geoff

Hi Geoff

Yes, you can do that.

You can go to your MrSite cPanel and change the DNS nameservers to point to your Gold hosting and then enter your domain name in your Gold Hosting account.

True.

However, as far as I know, you cannot "transfer" an existing .com or .co.uk domain name to Serif; in other words, you will have to continue paying an external domain provider to keep your existing domain name.

As far as I know, as part of Gold hosting, Serif will only pay for a domain name which has been supplied through Serif.

But .co.uk domain names are quite low cost.

Thanks for your help, it seems that I should confirm with Serif that this can be done.

Have just had a reply from Serif saying that they do not accept domain name transfers from other companies.

You cannot Transfer to Serif but you can Register one.
