Default Failure to embed resources/Not enough storage space

Hello,

I've been building a new version of my website on WebPlus X6 for the past fortnight. Yesterday it said that it could not embed the resources on it and then failed to save.

Today I started a total rebuild again but this time rather than choosing to embed any images or pdfs etc I chose to 'link to' the resource. However now it says there is 'not enough storage space to complete the operation' when I try to add anything else to the site.

What do I do? I feel like I've just wasted a fortnight of my life!

Well, generally speaking, there is no smoke without fire. The first thing I would do is check how much space there is left on my HDD.

Hi Ali,

Thanks for your reply. There is 1.8TB of space left on my hard drive, so I don't think it's a HDD space problem!

Since I posted that last message it's all been ok. I closed down the software and re-opened and then linked loads more images and pdfs and it's been ok. It was almost as if it had run out of temporary space and needed to be shut down and started again...

But as you say, there's no smoke with out fire. I have a feeling it's not the last I'll see of this issue.

It's a good idea to clear out your %Temp% folder from time to time, no matter how many TBs of free space you may have.

This will sound a bit stupid, but please can you advise me how I clear out my %temp% folder.

Thanks.

Hi Alex,

I think you can ask Disk Cleanup to do it for you, but I usually just go to the folder, press Ctrl+A to 'Select All' and then press Shift+Delete (or Delete if you prefer to send the stuff to your Recycle Bin instead of deleting it permanently). To get to your %Temp% folder, hold down the Windows key (to the left of the space bar) and press E to open an Explorer window, put %Temp% in the address bar at the top and then press Enter; alternatively, use WindowsKey+R to bring up a 'Run' box, put %Temp% in there and press 'OK'.

Alfred

You might benefit from the free Piriform CCleaner.

I use it once a week to clear away unrequired files.

Thank Alfred and Tom for your help and advise.

Fingers crossed there are no more issues with lack of storage space!
