a few links to get this going:

media info gives info about file tags/size/codec/etc http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/

I can't recommend everything in this link but there is some good stuff.. use your discretion: http://en.softonic.com/s/codec-detective ( VLC is really useful.)

Sherlock the Codec Detective will tell you what codecs are installed on your PC. As with all these sorts of pages take care to download the link you really want- they can be mixed in with a lot of garbage.

Many of the threads in these forums reference Audacity:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
a free audio editor with great plugin capability.

This is YouTube's latest advice about encoder settings. Not sure when it changed, but it is different to the settings I was using.

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?

BTW. After exporting from MoviePlus, I "fix" the MP4 files for "fast-start streaming" by using this method:

https://community.serif.com/forum/mo...ing-how-please

A little fiddly, but very quick.
