I’ve been doing that but the Panel does not pop up, the panel is panel_2 so I have put panel_2 in the Tool tip box, I also get the hyperlink edit icon too.
Time to start the tea, stew and dumplings.

You do NOT set Panel pop-ups in the tooltip box - not even as a hyperlink !

(tooltips are text rollovers for hyperlinks)

Panels have Actions set to other objects (not hyperlinks).
Please read the help as indicated earlier.

I'm very sorry, but I'm confused! I'm sure the answer to my needs is among the crop of posts above, but I just can't understand enough to fathom it out.

Would someone be patient and kind enough to give me a step-by-step explanation of how to achieve what I want, please?

For example, imagine I had a web page with a list of place-names. You hover your cursor over, say, Norwich, and a wee box appears that says "Be sure to visit the cathedral". You move your cursor away and the box disappears.

Is that do-able in WPX5?

Sorry if I'm being thick.

Sorted, thanks to all those who stayed with me even the ones that wanted to shout at me.
The stew and dumplings must have done the trick.

Yes, that's doable, but you can't apply an 'action' to a piece of text. So you have a choice: either convert your "Norwich" text box to an image, or place a transparent rectangular Quick Shape (QS) on top of it. Now when you right-click the image or QS you will see 'Actions...' among the list of options, and you can then choose that option and add a 'Visibility' action to make the relevant panel "Show on rollover; hide on rollout".

I hope this helps a little.

Right - sorry (the perils of dealing with two people on different versions in the same thread.)

In WPx5: (update from post #9)

Highlight the word 'Norwich' (drag the cursor over it) - now right click on the highlighted (selected) word) - left click Hyperlink - click Title Only then enter the text required in the Title box - see image.

Hope that's got it.

Sorry Alfred that OP was referring to ToolTips in WPx5 not panels.

Thanks, Alan. As somebody famous once said, "Right - sorry (the perils of dealing with two people on different versions in the same thread.)"!
