Question Printing Greeting Card using tent publication template

SM: HELP Help please printing Greeting Cards to the folded edge of a tent publication using an HP Photosmart printer. (HP says the problem is in the Serif software.)
Description: I am using a tent fold publication in PagePlus X5 in an 8.5x11" paper format. The front of the card is a photo sized to be 5x7". I bleed the photo on all 3 sides to allow for cutting and bleed also for the folded side. The problem is that the folded side of the photo does not bleed - instead the printed photo is cut/cropped to about 1/32" from the folded edge leaving a white border on the folded side. I want the photo to print slightly over the folded edge. It doesn't matter if I choose the "with border" or the "borderless" selection, the photo is cropped 1/32 short of the folded center of the page. I have tried converting the document to a pdf and the print leaves the same 1/32" white border. Is there a setting in the template to correct this?

I'm a bit confused. If you are using Letter size paper, the page size will be 8½"×5½". Your photo is 7"×5". Why do you need bleed?

Thanks for responding. The 5x7 is within the 8.5x11 paper. When the the whole page is folded in half the front half is now 5.5x8.5 and if the fold is at the top then the top of the 7 inch wide photo is (or should be) flush with the top (or the fold) that leaves 1.25" on the left and right side that is cut and on the bottom of this half sheet there is 1/2" to be cut. So now the photo goes to sides and bottom and should go right up against the fold - thus it is a borderless card. BUT PagePlus creates a 1/32" gap from the top of the photo to the fold (which is really the center of the paper). So the card is now borderless 5x7 on three sides but not the top where there is a 1/32" border.

Perhaps you can attach the file here, as I cannot replicate this problem. I placed a 7"×5" graphic on p1 of a Tent Card, and aligned it top and centre to the page, and it appears correctly aligned with the fold at the top.

Are you sure this is not just a case of the printer printing a little off centre vertically?

I'm sorry I don't see how to attach documents. The print is centered - I use the red guide lines for this - and it doesn't matter if I have the fold on the left or at the top. Imagine buying a greeting card where the front photograph is borderless on three sides but does have1/32" white border on the folded side. I found that if I choose "Everyday Printing" (instead of the "photo" setting) the card does not have the border on the fold, but the quality of the print is lessened. It doesn't matter if I choose the "with border" or the "borderless" photo setting, the white border is created on the the fold side.

Use the Go Advanced button below the reply box. You will then have the button to attached files.

Take care, Mike

To attach files, click the Quote button and scroll down, where you will see Manage Attachments button.

You don't need red guides, use Arrange/Align Objects, as per the attached.

Check in File/Print Preview to see how it will print.

Thanks for the help Geoff and Mike. I discovered that if I choose "General Everyday Printing" + regular or automatic paper choice, then there is no 1/32" border at the folded edge of the Greeting Card. Choosing the Photgraph settings and Greeting Card paper results in the narrow border. So I assume this is an HP Printer setting (problem for me) and not a Serif software issue. Sorry to bother you. Thanks for responding.

HP printers seem to suffer more than their fair share of problems! I think their drivers tend to be a bit dodgy!
