PagePlus X6 Update Announcement (16.0.1)

Dear All,

Serif (Europe) Ltd. is announcing the release of an update for the multi-lingual PagePlus X6 DVD (build number 16.0.1.25).

The main purpose of the build is to resolve issues discovered since the master of PagePlus 16.0.0 CD for which we apologise. As well as a number of minor fixes, this update addresses the following major issues. Many are phrased in the negative from our database but are nevertheless fixed.

• Fix crash loading BMPs with invalid header info.
• Fix crash loading package files under certain circumstances.
• Ensure default colour transforms are populated on document load.
• Fix possible crash loading old documents with OLE objects.
• Fix Import of 16-bit per Pixel Mono PNG Images.
• Fix Import of certain Tiff files with LZW compression.
• Prevent PhotoPlus crash when placing open PhotoPlus Images in PagePlus.
• Apply image compression on export of Custom Borders.
• Fixed import of certain flavours of PSD files.
• Fixed import of certain JPEG 2000 files.
• Fix problem with Photolab not applying filters correctly after they have been reordered in the stack.
• Fix problem with PhotoLab not applying default filters when editing an SPP file.
• Fix problem with PhotoLab drawing wrong preview image while processing.
• Fix possible multithreading crash when inserting images in to Pictures Assets Pane.
• Allow addition of Repeating Area to Assets Pane.
• Fix possible crash adding Pages to Assets Pane.
• Fix typos in SmartTags.
• Fix failure to copy background layer when cloning master pages.
• Fix for Page Numbers on master pages not always updating properly.
• Fix Format > Fill options so gradients are available on Text Frames.
• Default to Irregular Crop Tool for irregularly cropped objects.
• Fix Rotation Centre transform when Picture Object is scaled
• Fix Convert Frame Text to Curves to remove frame if necessary.
• Fix crash with select tool and very large group objects.
• Fix crash when Ctrl + double clicking QuickShape node slider handle.
• Fix Master page control toolbar drawing in the wrong position in multi-page view.

• Fix possible caret positioning issue after inserting footnote / endnote.
• Fix possible deletion of endnote content on joining stories.
• Fix non-continuous text background rendering for some common fonts.
• Fix problem with Mesh Warp on Artistic Text causing page contents to not draw.
• Fix problem where Preflight Check shows no indication of success.
• Fix HTML export issue - <TITLE> tags unpopulated if the page names are left unchanged.
• Fix line alignment problem on print.
• Fix crash publishing BookPlus book to PDF.
• Fix error publishing as PDF with bookmark to an anchor that's on the pasteboard.
• Fix missing Output Intents UI on PDF from Print Preview.
• Fix Publish PDF issue with large image a small placed size resulting in poor quality output.
• Fix Publish PDF issue with line with a gradient fill that has only 2 nodes.
• Fix Publish PDF issue with line art rendered as greyscale.

We would recommend that ALL users of PagePlus X6 English UK, English US, German and French download and install this file. Serif recommend that updating should be done within the program, by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help Menu. This will always get any available update for your version of Serif software (DVD or download) and install it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the file also.

To work out if you need this update choose "About PagePlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 16.0.0.19 or less and you are running the English UK, English US, German or French version then you need this update. Helpfully the software checks for updates the first time it runs, so for those yet to install a DVD, the latest update will be found on first use if needed.
