Default MP5 and X3 users beware

I have upgraded to X5 but very dissapointed that in my case I can not stop scene detection when capturing new footage.
Serif technical support tell me this is because X5 uses a different "engine" to capture in X5 and some older cams may always capture with scenes detected.
All 3 of my cams suffer and one is young enough to take HD!
I thought this info may be useful to anyone thinking of upgrading from MP5 or X3

We have confirmed this problem this morning. It appears to affect X3 as well. MoviePlus 5 behaves correctly. We are currently investigating whether we can fix it in the next patch.

I don't know why they would tell you that, it's completely incorrect. MoviePlus X5 uses the same capturing technology as X3.

I doubt it, as it's rather misleading - but thanks for informing us of the problem. I'll post back here with an update ASAP.

This problem is fixed in the forthcoming 7.0.2 patch.

Hi Jon
I am so pleased you are now involved.
I did post on the forum some weeks ago about this problem but the response fizzled out.

So called on Serif tec support and to quote Darren Wright

"MP5 imports fine while MPX5 has scenes appearing, this is because MPX5 has a new import engine that supports newer digital formats and for older devices scene detection is automatically applied"

I really have enjoyed using MP5 and hope to continue with X5 I chose my subject line deliberately to attract attention.

Last thing, I do not think PC Advisor did anything like justice to MPX5 in their recent review

Regards Richard Taylor
