Dear All.

Serif (Europe) Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of a patch for PagePlus X3 (build number 13.0.8.031).


The main purpose of the patch is to resolve a specific issue discovered after the release of PagePlus X3 13.0.7, for which we apologise.

• Can't Export to PDF/X1a non 32 bit images.

This patch also includes all the issues fixed in the previous PagePlus X3 patches, particularly these in 13.0.7.

• Print dialog detects that printer's duplex settings have changed without restarting PagePlus.
• Fixed problem with Metafile borders not joining properly.
• Fixed Table in respect of changes in locale affecting table formulae. (eg decimal separator representation).
• Fix for auto-fill with CR/LF characters. Table AutoFill used to lose hard returns.
• Fix for spurious error message on Drag and Drop of SerifMetaFile from Explorer.
• Table, entering ROUND() into table with no parameter caused crash.
• Specific WDP image files caused crash.
• Copy and Paste of embedded CMYK EPS – image was converted to RGB. Problem with PDF export image quality when publishing with a 200dpi profile / low JPEG quality settings.
• Fixed possible memory corruption due to not enough memory being allocated for bitmaps with depth less than 8 bits.
• PagePlus X4 file with Photo Adjustments opened in X3 no longer causes crash.
• Fix for 'Browse' dialog crash in Windows 7.
• SMF quality in media bar improved.
• Fixed problem with too many random EXIF and / or IPTC tags in the MediaBar search area.
• Drawing images at 100% now more reliable.

We would recommend that ALL users of PagePlus X3 download and install this patch. Serif recommend that patching should be done within the program, by using the "Check for update from web" option in the Help Menu. This will always get any available patch for your version of Serif software (CD or download) and install it too. The downloads page www.serif.com/downloads.asp has the patch also, which is 10.5 MB. The patch for the download PagePlus X3 is the same as for the CD version.

Helpfully the software checks for updates the first time it runs, so for those yet to install a CD, the latest patch will be found on first use.

To work out if you need this patch choose "About PagePlus" in the help menu and if the version number is 13.0.7.030 or less then you need this patch. This software patch is the only patch you need to apply, no matter what version of software you are currently running. There is no need to uninstall any previous patch before installing this patch.
