Dale

Great news. Couple of questions: 1. does PhP X3 provide all the RAW functionality of say RawTherapee and other RAW editors? 2. Can you save to 48 bit Tiff files?

Thanks

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave, I can't speak of Raw Therapee yet, am downloading it just now, but yes PhotoPlus X3 can save images as 48-bit TIFF (or 64-bit with transparency).

Dale.

Thanks Dale

Sounds good, I think you'll find Raw Therapee pretty comprehensive. BTW the user guide does not yet seem to be posted - File not found!

I noticed a capitalisation error in the link, when compared to other manuals, e.g. Instead of:

http://www.serif.com/community/pdfs/PhotoPlusx2.pdf

The link is:

http://www.serif.com/community/pdfs/photoplusx3-uk.pdf

Should be:

http://www.serif.com/community/pdfs/PhotoPlusx3-uk.pdf

but that doesn't work either.

Try: http://www.serif.com/community/pdfs/PhotoPlusx3.pdf

Hi folks, we've identified a corrupt upload and will replace the online PDF user guide ASAP.

Thanks, Dale.

Dale, Just went to the purchase upgrade page and there's no mention of the user guide or resource CD being included. Is this the case?

Regards

Dave it might help a little if I said I bought the download upgrade and there is a note to phone serif and i MAY qualify for them to send a free resource CD, however printed manuals have always been an extra, £9.99 in this case, there is of course a free pdf manual

Hi Pete

I usually but not always wait for an offer from Natasha - haven't had one of those lately, which includes the User guide and resource CD. But I've never received any Serif SW to date, offer or otherwise that hasn't included these.

Regards

Dave

Yes I think Natasha's offers do usually also offer the manuals, but the online purchases I think have always had them seperated, there is an option to add manual for ten quid during purchase. This is so ingrained in serif sales that they forgot to give away the free manual with DSA downloads even though it came with the cd version, serif did offer the full manual for that one program to all purchasers.

Have to disagree there Pete - at least in my experience. I bought WP X2 last March , not long after release, (don't recall that being an offer) and WP 10 the year before from Amazon, which definitely wasn't an offer and both came with res CD and User guide.

we'll have to agree to differ
I've only ever got manuals from Natasha or a serif phone call to me, I was sure I'd seen some comment by a serif employee so went in search ,the attached from the daisytrail forum

Well, I've just ordered my upgrade (from PhP 9). I would like to have seen keyboard shortcuts, but I've been playing with the competition and overall I think I'll be happiest with PhP. Never had to make a choice with my newsletter, once I found PagePlus never had to look at anything else.
Apart from the product itself, I really like Serif, I mean I've had PhP 9 for years yet they still honor the upgrade price and the forums are excellent.

Will the image cut-out studio be the same as it is in PhotoPlus X2 or will it be improved like it is in PagePlus X3?

It doesn't have the cutout studio of DPx3 or PPx£ but the old extractor though that may have been improved, not had chance to try yet
