Copy and Paste

Havn't received my copy of Movie+4 yet (but only ordered yesterday, so can't moan to much) - but can someone advise if I can do the following.

Cut a bit of a clip out, manipulate it, and then paste it back in behind the original (and pushing everything else back.

Example of what I mean - local football game - player scores, so I want to the copy the goal, play it in slow motion, and then continue where I left of.

I have played with a friends copy of Adobe Premier, and could not work out how to do it. Thought it would be simple - but oh no. I would be extremly surprised if I could not do it - but would like to be re-assured on this lovely saturday night.
