Question Clone Layers

I've been trying to find a way of cloning a complete layer, but cannot. Tech support are not aware of a method.

The only way it can be done at the moment is to create a new layer and copy and paste all the objects from the original to the new.

OK if you've only got one layer, but if you've got several then it becomes tedious.

Can layer cloning be developed for the next version?

Hi RogerV,

Welcome to the forums.

How are you going about the copying?

I find it really simple - select the layer press Ctrl+A to select all, Ctrl+C to copy, add a new layer and Ctrl+V - done in 4 clicks no matter how many objects are on a layer - sometimes this is many hundreds!

Hi Ken,

That's what I've been doing. What I'm looking for is a shorter method to clone the whole layer in one easy operation.

As I said, for one or two layers, that's not a problem. However if you've got several (perhaps several dozen) then it's time consuming and boring.

Hi RogerV

Why not add this to the DrawPlus X4 wishlist here too? MattP, the manager of DrawPlus development, does pop in here from time to time but Serif also make a point of monitoring the wishlist (they get automatic updates from this list).
