Default extracting still photo

How do I , or can I, extract a still photo from a video? I want to take the last frame (frozen) of a video and add it on the end for a period of time; essentially creating a visual pause.
Many thanks, Colin

On the main screen, just below the audio levels, there is a camera icon. Just pause at the frame you want and click the icon.

If you save the frame, you can add it to the media pane and use it as you want.

OR .... on the clip you want to freeze, on the properties of that clip, tick the box 'enable clip extending' then go back to the timeline, click at the end of clip and you can extend along the timeline to extend the duration of the frozen final frame.

You can also do this to freeze the start of a clip before it plays.

BTW. If you need to copy a frame from something that MoviePlus won't play, VLC Player has a handy "snapshot" feature.

The snapshot feature in PC DVD player software often costs extra... after a couple of "trial" uses. So, it's good that VLC player is free.
